Across the last two seasons, the Chaminade-Madonna offense has been arguably the best in all of Florida high school football. The back-to-back Class 1M state champion recorded a 27-1 record in that span, with the lone loss coming at Bishop Gorman (NV) in 2022. Led by a talented group that included Jeremiah Smith, Cedrick Bailey, Joshisa Trader, and Davion Gause, the Lions offense averaged 48 PPG and 49.1 PPG in 2022 and 2023, respectively,
Having lost each of those aforementioned players to graduation, Chaminade-Madonna is now tasked with replacing a significant amount of production from one of Florida’s most elite offensive units. Based on what the Lions have done so far this offseason, however, this might not be a problem after all – they are simply reloading toward what appears to be an elite group again in 2024.
Three recent transfers stand out on the Chaminade-Madonna offense, with perhaps the biggest name being Jabari Brady. A five-star prospect who’s part of the conversation around the nation’s No. 1 wide receiver in the 2026 class, Brady comes to the Lions from Monarch. In helping lead the Knights to the Class 4M state semifinals, Brady was Monarch’s top receiver as a sophomore, compiling 1,392 yards and 10 touchdowns on 70 receptions, including six games of 100+ receiving yards.
Brady isn’t the only wide receiver the Lions have added via transfer; Koby Howard also joins the Chaminade-Madonna offense from within Class 4M. Howard, a four-star prospect in the 2025 class, comes to the schoolk from Western, where he helped lead the Wildcats to a 9-4 record and a 4M regional final appearance. In 10 games, he compiled 65 receptions for 1,065 yards and 8 touchdowns – with 100+ yards in six contests – and he also rushed for 224 yards and 4 more scores on 26 attempts.
Chaminade-Madonna’s third addition is one of the state’s top young quarterbacks, Zac Katz. A member of the 2027 class, Katz helped lead True North Classical to the Class 1M regional finals in each of the last two seasons, with an impressive stat line over that period: 78.7 CMP%, 5,820 passing yards, a 72:6 TD:INT ratio, and 442 rushing yards with 2 TDs on 53 carries. Katz started as an eighth-grader, and as a freshman he had a 82.1 CMP% for 2,973 yards and a 38:1 TD:INT ratio, while also rushing for 236 yards on 31 attempts.
Brady, Howard, and Katz join a Chaminade-Madonna offense that also returns the likes of Kyle Washington, Denairius Gray, Arwin Jackson, and Jaquari Lewis. Those four combined for 2,000+ all-purpose yards and 35 touchdowns in 2023, and they will partner with the trio of newcomers to comprise one of Florida’s top offenses once again.
