The playoffs always bring out the very best in individual performances, and last week’s second-round games were absolute proof of that. Let’s see which Georgia high school playoff standouts made the cut for this week’s ITG Next Top Performers Club.
Tip Top Performers
Two of the top GISA players in Georgia are making their final season count, and in a big way. Jordan “The River” Triplett of Frederica Academy and Rodge Waldrop of Brookwood School are putting up numbers like our state has never seen at the quarterback position. Here are the stats these Georgia high school playoff standouts posted last Friday night:
- Rodge Waldrop: Accounted for 9 touchdowns – 6 passing and 3 rushing – while completing 30-of-42 pass attempts (72%) for 400 yards and gaining 85 more on the ground. He ends his season with 3,391 passing yards and 40 TDs.
- Jordan Triplett: Had 32 carries for 359 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns, completed 2-of-2 pass attempts for 72 yards and a TD, and completed a pair of 2-point conversion tries. He now has 8,712 career rushing yards, which puts him 132 yards away from becoming the all-time rushing yards leader in Georgia high school football history.
