Another week of Florida high school football action has come and gone. Following is look at some of the state’s most impressive performances in Week 8.
QB Luke Knight (Wiregrass Ranch)
Knight completed 11-of-16 passes for 371 yards and 5 touchdowns, and he also rushed for a TD in Wiregrass Ranch’s 49-10 win over Sunlake.
QB Jackson Hughes (Lake Minneola)
Hughes completed 14-of-19 passes for 293 yards and 5 touchdowns in Lake Minneola’s 62-14 win over South Lake.
QB Noah Grubbs (Lake Mary)
Grubbs completed 13-of-23 passes for 304 yards and 5 touchdowns in Lake Mary’s 36-6 win over Evans.
QB Carter Smith (Bishop Verot)
Smith had a stellar Week 8 in Florida high school action, completing 6-of-9 passes for 163 yards and 3 touchdowns in Bishop Verot’s 57-0 win over Gateway. The four-star prospect also rushed for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns on 5 carries, and he caught a pass for 7 yards.
WR Maddox Spencer (Nease)
Spencer was voted our October Male Athlete of the Month for his play in September, and he continued to shine in Florida high school football Week 8 with 5 receptions for 119 yards and 3 touchdowns in Nease’s 58-43 win over Flagler Palm Coast.
QB Sabby Meassick (Tohopekaliga)
Meassick completed 37-of-56 passes for 421 yards with 3 touchdowns in Tohopekaliga’s 18-14 win over Gulf Breeze.
QB Jeff Jones (St. Petersburg)
Jones rushed for 188 yards and 2 TDs on 22 attempts, while also completing 2-of-6 passes for 14 yards, in St. Petersburg’s 17-10 win over Pinellas Park.
