Key Losses
Undoubtedly the biggest loss for Niceville comes from Azareye’h Thomas, one of the top two-way standouts in Florida. He accounted for more than 15 total touchdowns on offense a year ago. Quarterback Addison Moore is a key loss in both the passing and running game, while Jay Pope, Tyler Powell, and Blake Orr have also moved on.
On defense, Niceville has to replace its top two pass rushers in Austin Firestone and Khalil Jacobs, as well as another prominent tackler in Noah Harman. The Eagles also must replace other names such as Ethan Edge, Peyton Holley, Caleb Carter, and Amari Carr.
Who’s Back
Arguably the biggest name returning for Niceville in 2022 is tight end Jaden Mikhael, and Maddax Fayard is a key returnee at wide receiver. Harrison Orr is back at quarterback after seeing limited action a year ago, while Micah Turner, a rising senior who rushed for more than 10 touchdowns last season, returns at the running back.
Defensively, the biggest name returning for Niceville is defensive back Jayden Sheppard, while Jack Hurtado is also a key returnee. Alongside those two, Deangelo Shorts is a name to know, and the aforementioned Orr was also a key name defensively last season.
What to Expect
After reaching a regional semifinal last season, Niceville returns a talented roster that should feature an exciting running game. Replacing lost production from the likes of Thomas and Moore is critical, and a few returning names need to step into bigger roles as the season goes along. But the Eagles should return to the playoffs again, with Niceville likely reaching at least a regional semifinal.

Niceville will win nine games in 2022, with the Eagles making a regional semifinal appearance.
