Climbing – and Moving – Mountains

These athletes are taking woman’s equality to a whole new level- altitude level that is.

Last week, 30 female football players climbed the highest mountain in Africa in order to take a stand against the inequality woman face in sports. The group of woman, ranging from 18 to 66 years old, climbed to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro to play a 90-minute football game. With the thin air that comes with being 19,000 feet high, this was no easy match to play. Dawn Scott, one of the coaches for the game, told CNN sports, “We made a pact before the game that it was all about the game finishing.” While the game may have ended goalless, I think there are clear winners.
