4 Questions With Champagnat Catholic Football Coach Hector Clavejo

We spoke with Champagnat Catholic football coach Hector Clavejo about the success of his program.

Q: When did you begin coaching, and how long have been there at Champagnat Catholic?

A: I’ve coached for five seasons, all five at Champagnat.

Q: You have built a championship program there. What do you owe your success to?

A: Having a steady mindset and a championship attitude with everything we do on and off the field. Also, having a great administration supporting the program.

Q: People may not realize that Champagnat Catholic is not a big school, but you guys play like it. That has to be a rewarding feeling?

A: It’s an amazing feeling to walk into a big stadium or campus and walk out victorious knowing we don’t have many, if any, resources.

Q: So, another state championship this past season. What is this year’s team looking like?

A: Looking like we will go for the three-peat this year. We are younger but talented, and the veterans we have are elite leaders and will hold everyone accountable.
