2025 Georgia High School Volleyball Rankings

Top 10 Georgia High School Volleyball Teams Across All Classifications

Updated 9/17/2025

All season long, ITG Next will be ranking the Top 10 Georgia high school volleyball squads in the state.

Alpharetta remains in the top spot in this week’s poll of the top volleyball programs in Georgia for the second straight week. The Raiders are 28-1 as of Wednesday 9/16, and are fresh off a thrilling 3-2 win over North Forsyth.

How good is Alpharetta? They are currently riding a 22-game winning streak, and during that stretch have recorded shutout victories in 19 of the 22 winning matches.

The Raiders are led by the trio of senior captains Kennedi White, Kailey Leonard, and Audrey Simpson.

Lovett and Pope remain in the next two spots, as the second and third-ranked teams respectively, switching spots from last week’s Top 10 poll.

The Greyhounds have bounced back with three straight victories since dropping a 2-1 decision against North Paulding in the first week of September. They are 22-5 at the time of our latest rankings.

Lovett takes over the number two spot with a 17-1 overall record on the season. Their only loss of the 2025 season was to Kentucky Volleyball Powerhouse Assumption high school from Louisville, KY. The Rockets are the defending Kentucky High School Girls Volleyball State Champion.

North Forsyth has had a solid season to date, and are playing as well as any team in the state.

As we mentioned earlier, they did lose a close match to top-ranked Alpharetta just prior to our most recent poll, but their overall play is rewarded with a move up into the Top five this week.

Rounding out the Top five is Buford, who jumps one spot from their previous ranking of number six.

The lower half of this week’s Top 10 Volleyball teams in Georgia sees Pace Academy, Blessed Trinity, and Walton each moving up one spot from our previous poll, while we welcome in a couple of new squads.

Hebron Christian and Marist make their debut this week, with the Lions entering at number 9, and the Eagles occupying the final spot at number 10.

Hebron Christian is one of the hottest teams in the state right now as they are on a 25-match win streak. They are 32-2 overall, and have not lost a match since falling to Jackson County on August 14th. They dropped their opening match of the season to Buford, but since the 3-1 loss to  the Panthers from Jefferson they are red hot.

Marist is 20-3 overall and have recorded 11 shutouts while winning 12 matches in a row.

  1. Alpharetta
  2. Lovett (+1)
  3. Pope (-1)
  4. North Forsyth (+1)
  5. Buford (+1)
  6. Pace Academy (+1)
  7. Blessed Trinity (+1)
  8. Walton (+1)
  9. Hebron Christian (NR)
  10. Marist (NR)

Alpharetta takes over the top spot in our updated 2025 Georgia high school volleyball rankings as they trade spots with previous No. 1 Pope High School. Don’t be surprised to see these two bounce back and forth anywhere at or near the top of the top 10 each week.

As we mentioned last week, Cartersville jumped out to a dominating start to the 2025 season, knocking off both the defending state champions Pope and Alpharetta. They took that surge of momentum to Knoxville last week, as they participated in the Showdown at the Sunsphere invitational. They played well, splitting four matches by defeating Franklin, Tennessee, and Holy Cross of Louisville, Kentucky, before falling to the Assumption Rockets of Louisville and local rival Lovett High School. So, the Purple Hurricanes were able to take two wins and two losses back home to resume their season.

Speaking of Lovett, the Lions make their debut in a big way this week, entering the top 10 at No. 3 following their successful display at the Showdown at the Sunsphere. The Buford Wolves rise up the ranks from the ninth spot to the No. 6 spot. Pace Academy makes their debut in the top 10, coming in at No. 7.

Blessed Trinity and Walton remain in their same spots from last week, while Woodward Academy cracks the top 10 by debuting at the No. 10 spot.

  1. Alpharetta (Class 6A) +1
  2. Pope (Class 5A) -1
  3. Lovett (Class 2A) NR
  4. Cartersville (Class 4A) -1
  5. North Forsyth (Class 6A)
  6. Buford (Class 6A) +4
  7. Pace Academy (Class 4A) NR
  8. Blessed Trinity (Class 4A)
  9. Walton (Class 6A)
  10. Woodward Academy (Class 5A) NR

Out: Jefferson (Class 3A), Grayson (Class 6A), North Cobb (Class 6A)

All season long, ITG Next will be ranking the Top 10 Georgia high school volleyball teams in the state.

1. Pope (Class 5A)

The season is just underway, so it’s still early, but it’s hard to argue with having the Pope Greyhounds as our No. 1 high school volleyball team in Georgia.

Head coach Erica Miller’s team is not just the toast of Class 5A, but their success has also defined what an elite volleyball program should look like. There’s no reason to think Pope won’t be competing for yet another state title in 2025.

2. Alpharetta (Class 6A)

If there’s a team looking to claim the crown for itself as the state’s best, it may just be Alpharetta.

The Raiders ran the table on their way to a state title last season, winning all 36 matches. Although they lost several of the key members of that team, they’re not going to suddenly cease their championship pedigree.

3. Cartersville (Class 4A)

Cartersville is off to a dominating start, knocking off both the defending state champs Pope and Alpharetta. They will have a chance to strengthen their quest as a championship-tier program as they take part in the Showdown at the Sunsphere invitational in Knoxville, Tennessee, in late August, a tournament showcasing the best volleyball talent in the Southeast.

4. Jefferson (Class 3A)

The Jefferson Dragons are off to a good start so far at 8-4 overall as they look to defend their 2024 state championship.

5. North Forsyth (Class 6A)

North Forsyth seems to be a favorite to claim the Class 6A state title this year after a strong run to the quarterfinals in 2024. The Raiders return just about every player from last year’s roster, so we’ll keep an eye on them this season.

6. Grayson (Class 6A)

Grayson knocked off Archer to win Region 4-6A in 2024, and the Rams will try to use that as a springboard to bigger and better things, like a deeper run in the state playoffs this year.

7. North Cobb (Class 6A)

North Cobb advanced to the state title match in 2024 for the second straight season, but could not overcome eventual champion Alpharetta after winning it all a year earlier in 2023. The Warriors are ready to bookend that 2023 title with a 2025 championship.

8. Blessed Trinity (Class 4A)

Blessed Trinity enjoyed a Final Four finish last year, winning 29 matches, and are off to a red-hot start in 2025 with a 7-1 record at the time of writing.

Other than losing outside hitter Ansley Smith to graduation, the Titans bring back just about every other statistical leader from last season.

9. Walton (Class 6A)

Walton is off to an undefeated 3-0 start at the time of writing, but it’s the program’s history that demands respect for the future of 2025.

The Raiders welcome back Walton volleyball alumnae Ashley Jones as their head coach. She led Marietta’s volleyball program before deciding to return to Walton.

10. Buford (Class 6A)

Buford is another volleyball team off to a strong start this season. At the time of writing, the Wolves are undefeated through their first five matches, including a straight set win over North Cobb, a Class 7A state finalist last year.

With several returning contributors from last year’s 24-9 roster, look for the Wolves to remain in the hunt in Class 6A this season.
