2025 Georgia High School Football Predictions Week 7

Phil Jones gives his score predictions for the top six games being played in Week 7 of the 2025 Georgia high school football season

Lowndes at Colquitt County

Region play begins for Region 1-6A, and the matchup between the Lowndes High Vikings and the Colquitt County Packers might just be the one to decide who the top dog is among the six teams that make up Region 1-6A. Lowndes breezed through an easy non-region schedule with very little resistance, while Colquitt, on the other hand, faced a gauntlet of teams in the first half of their schedule.

The Packers battled three state championship-caliber opponents in Benedictine, North Gwinnett, and Lee County, winning two of those three matchups. They also beat Monroe and Rickards to go 4-1 in their first five contests.

I think Colquitt’s home field advantage may be the difference in this one.

Phil’s Pick: Colquitt County 28, Lowndes 21

Coffee at Northside (Warner Robins)

It’s the Region 2-5A opener for both the Trojans of Mike Coe and the Eagles of first year head coach Daniel Boone Williams.

Both teams are coming off tough matchups at home last week, with the Eagles falling to Peach County and Coffee losing a close one against Daytona’s Mainland High.

Both Northside and Coffee have young rosters, although the Trojans senior running back Kentavious DeBruce has 7 touchdowns so far this year. The Eagles are still seeking their first win of the year, and would love to finally break through in their region opener and turn their season around.

I’m not sure if they have enough to win this one, but I think they’ll keep it closer than expected.

Phil’s Pick: Coffee 28, Northside 16

Benedictine at Ware County

The Benedictine high school Cadets have faced one of the toughest schedules of any team in the state so far through their first half of the 2025 season. Head coach Danny Britt’s Cadets started off with a road game at Colquitt then faced the Buford Wolves in their home opener. That resulted in an 0-2 start for the Savannah powerhouse, but they have been able to battle back to a 2-2 record heading into this week’s game versus Ware County. The Gators will pose yet another tough matchup for Benedictine, but I like Danny Britt and his team in this one

Phil’s Pick: Benedictine 35, Ware County 31

Blessed Trinity at Savannah Christian

This matchup will be held at Georgia Southern University’s Paulson Stadium, and it’s fitting that a big game has a big stage, and the home of the Division-1 Eagles will certainly provide that for both programs. This non-region contest will be a big one nevertheless. The Titans have played against a tough slate of opponents week after week so far in 2025, including back to back state champion Milton and Hebron Christian the past two weeks, resulting in back to back losses. Things don’t get any easier this week as they travel to Savannah to take on the Raiders, who had also lost two games in a row before earning a bye last week.

Who breaks the streak?

Phil’s Pick: Blessed Trinity 23, Savannah Christian 20

East Coweta at Cambridge

We feature another Region 6-4A program in the Cambridge High School Bears as they host East Coweta’s Indians. Head coach Tyler Jones’ team enjoyed an off week after knocking off the defending class 3A state champion Calhoun Yellow Jackets two weeks ago. East Coweta is coming off a huge win over Perry last week. It was the Indians’ first victory of the season. Can head coach John Small’s team make it two in a row with a win this week?

Phil’s Pick: Cambridge 28, East Coweta 16

Appling County at Fitzgerald

Emotions will be riding high in this one as former Fitzgerald head coach Tucker Pruitt takes his new team, the Appling County Pirates, into the familiar grounds of Jaycee Stadium, where he roamed the home sidelines for eleven seasons as coach of the Purple Hurricanes. But, Pruitt will be coaching from the visitors side, across from Wes Tankersley, who took over for Pruitt following his departure.

The Pirates have struggled this year, but are coming off a win last week over Miller County. Fitzgerald, who started the season at 2-0 have lost their last two games to Brooks County and Worth County, respectively.

Can the Purple Hurricanes get back to their winning ways in this one?

Phil’s Pick: Fitzgerald 21, Appling County 7
