2025 Georgia High School Football Game Predictions Week 12

Phil Jones gives his score predictions for the top six games being played in Week 12 of the 2025 Georgia High School Football Season

Lowndes at Valdosta

We are down to the final regular season game of the week in Region 1-6A as Valdosta hosts the Vikings in the annual Winnersville Classic. The game is always huge despite the overall win-loss records of each team, but this year’s game has much more than just sentimental value, bragging rights in the city, etc.

Oh no, this one means the top seed from Region 1-6A heading into the playoffs, and if you have looked at the playoff brackets for Class 6A, the team securing that top seed will have a tremendous advantage over the remaining three seeds.

If Lowndes wins the game, they are the region champion, having defeated Valdosta and Colquitt County. If Valdosta wins AND Colquitt wins, then there is a 3-way tie with all three teams tied at 4-1 in region action. There would then be a tie breaker involving all three teams with their points allowed against the other playoff teams from Region 1-6A.

I think Lowndes wins this one, and there is no tiebreakers to worry about.

 Phil’s Pick: Lowndes 30 Valdosta 27

Douglas County at Carrollton

The Tigers are coming off a home win last week against Chapel Hill, while the Trojans enjoyed a bye week. Their last game was back on 10/17, a home win over East Coweta. Douglas County has played well this season, except for their loss at Buford earlier this season.

Carrollton has looked really strong this season, which has come as a surprise to many people, given that the team lost 4-year phenom starter Julian “JuJu” Lewis to graduation. But the two-quarterback system of CJ Cypher and Mason Holtzclaw has been effective, with Carrollton undefeated heading into this final regular season matchup.

Phil’s Pick: Carrollton 35 Douglas County 31

Camden County at Tift County

Pride is on the line in this one as the Blue Devils and Wildcats face off in the regular season finale for both programs. Both programs got off to a promising start earlier in the season, but have since seen their playoff hopes all but disappear.

While there’s no hope for a post season berth in this game, a win would send each team into the offseason with hope for a better 2026 season.

Phil’s Pick: Tift County 36 Camden County 33

Colquitt County at Richmond Hill

The Packers are hoping to end the regular season with a win at Richmond Hill’s beautiful new stadium this week.

The Wildcats are guaranteed to make the playoffs as the number seed, which could mean a trip to Buford in a first round playoff game.

Coach Matt LeZotte’s team could get a huge boost of confidence heading into the postseason if the Wildcats can knock off the Packers.

In fact, you can bet Richmond Hill’s players, coaches, and fans consider this one as close to a playoff game as any game so far this season. A win over a program like Colquitt County in front of the home crowd in their new home would be a perfect send off to Gloryland the following week.

Phil’s Pick: Colquitt County 40 Richmond Hill 28

Appling County at Pierce County

After starting off his first year as Appling County’s new head football coach with three losses in his first four games, Tucker Pruitt’s Pirates football team has rebounded with five straight wins, including wins over Fitzgerald, plus three straight region games. Last week’s win over Cook 57-27 has Appling County at 3-0 and all alone at the top of the region standings.

However, the battle for the top seed in Region 3-AA is very much still in doubt as Pruitt takes his team into the Bears Den to take on Ryan Herring and Pierce County, who are 2-1 in region play. A win by Pierce County and a Crisp loss gives the Bears the region crown.

As you may know these two teams don’t care a whole lot for each other.

Definitely a rivalry.

Phil’s Pick: Appling County 26 Pierce County 16

Thomas County Central at Coffee

These two teams were the ITG Next Georgia Game of the Week last year in the regular season finale, held at Thomas County Central. The Yellow Jackets won that game, and will be the favorite in this one, also.

Thomas County Central is coming off a big win over a solid Houston County team last week, clinching the Region 2-5A championship and establishing themselves as one of the 5A favorites to win it all this season.

Coffee has soldiered through a transition season with many younger players stepping up and getting valuable playing time, but the inexperience has shown at times.

They’ll certainly have their hands full with the Yellow Jackets.

Phil’s Pick: Thomas County Central 42 Coffee 14
