Leading off our Florida high school Week 2 predictions is one of the biggest games of the early season. It comes in Kissimmee on Friday night as Osceola hosts Seminole, a matchup featuring two teams that are among the best in Class 4M and 4S, respectively. The Kowboys, led by one of 4S’ most talented defenses, are coming off a 14-5 win over Treasure Coast. They’ll be matched up against a Seminole offense that routed Riverview-Sarasota 48-0 a week ago.
Prediction: Seminole 21, Osceola 14
West Orange vs Apopka
West Orange hosts Apopka in an early-season clash between a pair of Class 4M heavyweights, and it should be a close contest. The Warriors cruised to a season-opening win a week ago, defeating Oak Ridge 46-12, while the Blue Darters narrowly avoided an upset, topping Ocoee 13-12.
Prediction: Apopka 24, West Orange 21
Jesuit vs Treasure Coast
Defending 6A state champion Jesuit began the 2022 season with an impressive road win against Wharton. The competition doesn’t get much easier in Week 2, when the Tigers will host a Treasure Coast team that’s among the best in Class 4S, despite losing 14-5 loss a week ago at Osceola.
Prediction: Jesuit 30, Treasure Coast 20
Chaminade-Madonna vs Dillard
Chaminade-Madonna began its 2022 season last Saturday night with a 35-28 win over St. John’s (DC) and now begins in-state play with a home matchup against Dillard. The Panthers defense could provide a test for the high-powered Lions offense on Friday night, but they will certainly have their hands full with the wide receiver duo of Jeremiah Smith and Joshisa Trader.
Prediction: Chaminade-Madonna 28, Dillard 20
Duncanville (TX) vs Jones
Interstate matchups were a big talking point during Week 1 in Florida high school football, and the state has a few notable showdowns again this week. Arguably the biggest is 3M’s Jones traveling to take on a Duncanville team that is one of the best in Texas.
Prediction: Duncanville 28, Jones 17
Venice vs Naples
Venice opened the 2022 season with a 32-26 loss at the hands of Miami Northwestern a week ago, and Week 2 does not get any easier for the Indians. In the final spot of our Florida high school Week 2 predictions, Venice will host a Naples team that is coming off a dominant 45-9 win over Lehigh last Friday night.
