The star power and pure talent alone that Florida High School Boys Basketball displays year-by-year is among the best in the country, and can stack up with any other state. With many of this year’s top names taking center stage this week in the Florida High School Boys Basketball Final Four, here are 10 players to watch for entering the week that could play key roles for their team’s success.
Brice Sensabaugh – Lake Highland Prep
A four-star recruit and Ohio State commit, Sensabaugh has been one of the top overall scorers in Florida this season, averaging a phenomenal 24.6 points per game (PPG) and 7.4 rebounds per game (RBG) to lead the Highlanders in scoring and rebounding.
Karter Knox – Tampa Catholic
A five-star recruit, as well as the No. 10 player nationally for the Class of 2024, the sophomore has enjoyed a phenomenal 2021-22 season where he leads Tampa Catholic with 20.4 PPG and 7.3 RPG. Alongside Knox, guard Eddrin Bronson is also an impact scorer for the Crusaders, as well as Isaiah Campbell-Finch and Karmello Branch.
Ernest Udeh Jr – Dr. Phillips
One of the state’s top interior players, the five-star Kansas commit is by far the Panthers top rebounder at 9.3 RPG, as well as averaging 13.4 PPG offensively.
Taylor Hendricks – Calvary Christian
Facing off against Lake Highland Prep in the Final Four, Hendricks could be the option for the Eagles primarily defending Sensabaugh previously. A team with multiple impact scorers such as Marvel Allen, Carl Cherenfant and Gregg Glenn, the four-star UCF commit leads Calvary Christian with 15 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 2.7 blocks per game (BPG).
Tre Donaldson – Florida State
A three-star Auburn commit, Donaldson is an impact guard who averages 16.3 PPG, 5 RPG, 3.7 assists per game (APG), and 2.4 steals per game (SPG), and is a primary scorer for the Seminoles alongside junior guard Anthony Robinson.
Cameron Boozer – Miami Columbus
There are few underclassmen who have impressed more this season than Boozer, a freshman forward who averages 19 PPG, 11.7 RPG, 4.2 APG, and 2.3 BPG for one of 7A’s top teams. Right behind Cameron as well is his brother Cayden, who averages 17 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 5.5 APG for the Explorers.
Riley Kugel – Dr. Phillips
Udeh Jr mentioned previously is arguably the Panthers best overall player, but the three-star Mississippi State commit actually leads Dr. Phillips in scoring at 16.1 PPG, as well as averaging 5 RPG and 3.2 APG. Alongside Kugel, Denzel Aberdeen is also a name to watch, yet another impact guard who averages 14.8 PPG.
