Florida High School Producing the Most NFL Draft Picks Since 2000

Florida produces some of the best athletes in the country. Many of these are football players who started their careers in Florida high schools.

St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale has produced the most NFL draft picks among all high schools in Florida. Since 2000, they’ve had 23 graduates get drafted to the NFL, nine more than the next closest school.

Some of these draft picks include well known NFL players such as Geno Atkins, Philip Dorsett, and the Bosa brothers, Nick and Joey.

Atkins anchored the Cincinnati Bengals defensive line for years, while Dorsett was a first-round pick to the Indianapolis Colts. Both the Bosa brothers were top-three draft picks and are currently two of the best edge rushers in the NFL.

St. Thomas Aquinas enjoyed an undefeated season last year. They are consistently one of the best teams in the nation. They are 11-times state champions and three-times national champions. Having a future NFL player on the team nearly every year certainly helps win a lot of games.

With nearly a double-digit lead in draft picks, it appears St. Thomas Aquinas will remain in the lead for the foreseeable future. Time will tell if a true rival will present itself.
