Fellowship Christian may have pulled off the biggest shocker of any classification by not only upsetting top-ranked Bowdon, but also shutting out the three-time state champion. As a result, Fellowship Christian jumps up two spots in our 2025 Georgia high school football rankings for Class 1A-3A Private.

Now, a word to the wise: Bowdon has lost each of its past three season-openers, so it’s not like head coach Rich Fendley’s Red Devils haven’t been here before. I’m sure they will bounce back.

Darlington and Wesleyan make their debuts.

Aquinas moves from No. 10 to No. 7 after an 18-point win over Athens Academy.

  1. Prince Avenue Christian (2A)
  2. Savannah Christian (1A-DI)
  3. Holy Innocents’ (2A)
  4. Hebron Christian (2A)
  5. Fellowship Christian (1A-DI) +2
  6. North Cobb Christian (2A)
  7. Aquinas (3A) +3
  8. Darlington (1A-DI) NR
  9. Wesleyan (1A-DI) NR
  10. Lovett  (2A) -1

Out: Greater Atlanta Christian, Calvary Day

Preseason – Updated 5/30/2025

Here are ITG Next’s 2025 Georgia high school football preseason rankings for Class 1A-3A Private.

It’s Year 2 of the GHSA’s private school split for Classes 1A-Division I, 2A, and 3A to determine a state champion. Last season saw Hebron Christian defeat Prince Avenue Christian to win the state title.

Looking at this season, I expect Prince Avenue Christian to once again be the team to beat. New head football coach John Richt will have three-star, dual-threat quarterback Ben Musser and leading rusher Jerry “Andrew” Beard II both back for their junior seasons.

I like Hebron Christian and Savannah Christian to compete for a state title with North Cobb Christian in the mix as well.

I like Greater Atlanta Christian to rebound after a down season in 2024.

I think the team that is poised to step up big time this season is Holy Innocents’ Episcopal. Head football coach Nick Perrotta’s Golden Bears squad is loaded with returning playmakers, including a couple of standout sophomores in safety and wide receiver Jake Berte and athlete Brayden Bailey. Both have multiple Division I college offers.

  1. Prince Avenue Christian (2A)
  2. Savannah Christian (1A-DI)
  3. Holy Innocents’ (2A)
  4. Hebron Christian (2A)
  5. Greater Atlanta Christian (3A)
  6. North Cobb Christian (2A)
  7. Fellowship Christian (1A-DI)
  8. Calvary Day (3A)
  9. Lovett (2A)
  10. Aquinas (3A)
